Legislation that has been dubbed the Deny Americans the Right to Know, or DARK, Act passed the House of Representatives on Thursday.
The act, officially titled the ‘Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act’, strips states of their right to require that GMO foods be labeled and prevents the Food and Drug Administration from mandating a nationwide GMO labeling system.
“It’s outrageous that some House lawmakers voted to ignore the wishes of nine out of 10 Americans,” said Scott Faber, the senior vice president of government affairs for Environmental Working Group (EWG). “Today’s vote to deny Americans the right to know what’s in their food and how it’s grown was a foregone conclusion. This House was bought and paid for by corporate interests, so it’s no surprise that it passed a bill to block states and the FDA from giving consumers basic information about their food.”

I think the best answer to this is for everyone to raise gardens and some chickens in their own back yards and have their own food supply–you may can or freeze produce–your choice–use organic seeds and their is your self sufficient food supply? No GMOs and you have a safe food supply! Since I do not care–I will eat GMOs–I am almost 80–I do not feel like weeding, I do water the garden–my son and daughter-in-law takes care of weeds and mowing on my place.I just do not have a concern about this–to each his own? I do not like to can–takes so much time to just can 6 to 8 quarts–all afternoon? I like to do other things.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone have any proof that GMOs are bad? I have heard from a number of scientists not in the industry who have done their own studies who say GMOs are not harmful so can anyone disprove that?
This is wrong we have a right to know what our food is. This must be stopped.
Hey. I’m ordering Chinese. Apparently I don’t care what I’m eating.
WOW!
Did they sell them…………or give them away? No they cant but the people are the problem. They sit back and ALLOW those reps to be a part of corporate instead of demanding they do what they were elected to do.
