If you wax and store cheese properly it can last for years, some say 8-10. Plus, you have the added benefit of the sharpness increasing with age.
You want to use firm cheeses like Parmesan, cheddar, and Swiss. Start with a mild to medium cheese to account for the increased sharpness.

Did u know that if u have eggs n rub them with mineral oil they will keep long time in refrigerated conditions
actually, you can also wax eggs and dispense with the refrigerated conditions — the idea behind it is the same as with the cheese, slow down or stop oxidation (combining with air) to stop them going “off”. Although with cheese you’re also protecting from maggots and vermin, I guess.
Now I know why some women have “lumpy” panty hose.
