Pope Francis is upending catholic tradition once again, and many of his followers aren’t happy.
Pope Francis was selected to lead the Catholic church in 2013, after several years of scandal-prone leadership from his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI. But it wasn’t long until Francis began stirring controversy himself.
Unlike his predecessor — who was often characterized as “too conservative” — Francis immediately began liberalizing the Catholic faith. He suggested that his followers apologize to gay people and validated the beliefs of competing religions, claiming that all religions worship the same god. Then, in perhaps the most bizarre development of last year, the pontiff began an unprompted feud with Donald Trump over immigration policy.
So it should come as no surprise that Pope Francis is once again upsetting many of his diehard followers with an announcement that seems to go against fundamental Catholic values.
See more on the “grave sin” the Pope says women can be forgiven for on the next page:
Only God has that power, this pope is a complete fraud!!!
Sin is sin! Grave sin? Another words, does it mean that you can get forgiveness for murder more easily?
… for a price …
They have always had the power to absolve grave sin!
The Priests *do not* absolve sin. They do it “with the power and authority of Jesus Christ”. However, there are some priests that are prideful and think they alone have the power and they will be judged for that. And the Pope has this authority through Jesus Christs assignment, to do so. Any woman that has an abortion and thinks her oath to the church and Jesus is blocked because of that, praise God that the Pope is realizing that and telling the priests to cut that out and as Christ gave this authority, help this woman come into the church again. And as for the other radical statements and forgiving authority that has us Christians all in an uproar, God lives everyone. Sinner and all. He wants us to come to Him. Anything that stands in that path should be swept away with forgiveness as long as we sinners have a sincere heart and turn away from those things that keep us away.
You mean further to the south
Ohhhh I hear sin , sin, sin, here sin, there sin,you sin, I sin etc. Now I ask you How can You have free will and Be punished at the same time? With God as the creator of his children and you the creator of your children, suppose you tell your child – the world is yours and you can do anything you want and be whoever you want to be, I give you free will, please tell me how can you possibly punish your child on his or her way through life? Didn’t you give them free will? Just as we are all God’s children and he gave us free will. I truly believe that is something he would not take back. He does not punish us. He cannot punish and give us free will at the same time. Human as we are with our goodness and badness, bring our down falls unto ourselves. We can choose the path of love or hate. Can you choose which one you want to take? I do believe the path of love has less downfalls to it. Listen to God – Not mankind. The good thing is that, we all have choices. Pretty Kewl huh?
Numbknuckle can’t absolve sin…only God can. Pretty arrogant to think that you can absolve somebody’s sin. Their own bible even tells them that.
Just so the Pope understands “man” has no power to absolve Sin period. To think himself or any priest has that power is to place himself as God, which he clearly is not. No one sins are forgiven or absolved but by the grace of the Almighty.
COMMUNIST FIRST , AND$#%&!@*HEAD SECOND.
