Police have shot Air Force Airman 1st Class, Michael Davidson, during a minor traffic accident for no apparent reason in Opelika, AL.
The Airman had inadvertently clipped the mirror of a semi-truck and was in the process of exchanging insurance information when Opelika police officer Philip Hancock told the Davidson to put his hands in the air.
Davidson turned around holding a wallet raised above his head when the officer shot him in the stomach, causing serious injuries that will likely end the young Airman’s career.
Police waited 16 hours before informing the family.
Airman Davidson, my prayers…..a billfold looking like a gun is not even close, to trigger happy to be a law official. Sad case.
The cops waited 16 hrs to inform the kid’s family. That tells me they were trying to come up with how to cover their asses!
wow sick bastards. cold hearted. and if it was there own son or relative how would they react if this happened to them. wow.
Sickening story!! I hope that cop realizes and admits he was wrong. Too many stories like this!!
bet they claim he thought it was an ar-15 wallet
This appears to be unprovoked, unjust and unnecessary; I pray the Airman makes a full recovery and teaches many lessons to the trigger happy fool who shot him,
With a good lawyer he can retire!
LAWYER TIME, BIG TIME.
What you people fail to realize is that there is almost no such thing as an “Office Friendly” these days. With the paramilitarization of the US police force, LEO’s these days are taught that everyone is a suspect, guilty, and just haven’t been caught yet. When LEO’s screw up it either gets covered up or poo-pooed away as a justified shooting. I imagine that in this case they will say that the AirMan’s wallet resembled a gun. The American Gestoppo is alive and well and there are very few good LEO’s left in this nation. You people better wake up.
What is happening with the cops going crazy ?
