Philadelphia Reporter Assaulted During Live Report

Punched in the forehead, while filming a live report in front of the Philadelphia City Hall, Telemundo 62’s, journalist Iris Delgado and the anchor Ramon Zayas, were shocked by the attack.

The black woman, wearing the green shirt, struck Delgado in the face, allegedly three times and the camera cuts to anchor the anchor who responds, “Ay, Dios mio! Esperemos que esté bien.” (Oh, my god. We hope she’s okay.)”

Anchor Ramon Zayas started to say something, but he was pre-empted by the unidentified woman, who suddenly grabs the hair on the back of Delgado’s head and pulls while simultaneously slamming Delgado in the forehead with her fist.

“Ay, Dios mio!” Zayas exclaims as the video ends.

Although the incident happened Wednesday, Delgado has made no comment about it as of Friday; neither has the station for which she works. No motive for the woman’s attack has been given.

Police say that Delgado’s news crew pursued the woman who is identified as  37-year-old, Waheedah Wilson.  She was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and assault of another person.
Being a reporter is not as glamorous as one may believe, just ask Iris Delgado.
