According to recent comments by the Secretary of Defense, the Cold War may very well be revived within our lifetime.
After the collapse of communism in 1991, many believed that the Russian threat was no more. As the threat from the Middle East increased and culminated in the attacks of September 11th, 2001, the focus shifted to the more nebulous threat of Islamic terrorism. However, it seems the Pentagon is getting ready to change that focus again.
Speaking at a press conference, Defense Secretary Ashton Carter provided a list of challenges that the US will need to respond to in the near future. Topping the list was not ISIS or Al Qaeda, but Russia, followed by China, North Korea, Iran, and ending with terrorism.
Carter’s numbering will likely prove controversial. Some will agree that Russia needs to be contained in light of it’s actions in Ukraine, while others may contend that the US should concentrate on defeating ISIS and it’s fellow jihadist groups.
Watch Carter’s statement on the next page:
Pentagon is lying and I hope Americans can see through these lies, our government is the most war hungry people on earth. Our government created isis in order to DEPOPULATE THE WORLD. Isis is the original al-quida. you can thank Obama, Hillary and their followers for our problems.
And that’s why I don’t trust this government
Sell that war talk!!!
Yes,if America lets a another PUSS into office.
I am not buying that, Putin seems reasonable to me, and will keep North Korea in check, as we can’t help ourselves right now. TRUMP for president.
This is insanity. We should be working to strengthen our relationship with Russia! Russia and Putin have done nothing to deserve this kind of contempt from our White House and Pentagon!
Can’t fix stupid!
I bet there ain’t no ISIS in Russia. So they are a threat to ISIS. We can’t believe anything coming out of the white house any longer because every cabinet member is tied to Muslim connections some how. Study it and then tell me I’m crazy.
Last I heard, Russian had made no attacks in recent history on American soil
Omuslim is more of a threat
