With the amount of losing narratives the Fake News Industrial Complex (FNIC) has been striking out on, it’s no wonder that they’ve latched onto this one. The Confederacy Monument story has been as good to the FNIC as the tape worm to Rosie O’Donnell.
We’ve seen it go from passing interest a few years ago to a full-blown, blood-in-the-water, feeding frenzy and that’s just the Party of the Jackass. The FNIC has followed suit in their newly-nuanced activist media role where the DOTH has propelled them from the doldrums of the Russia-collusion “big nothing burger” story to an oyster in the mouth of a 20-pound lobster caught in their net.
This story will play out at its own momentum, but of course hoc etiam transibit and before we know it, we’ll be onto the next big story. In the meantime, House MINORITY Leader Nancy Pelosi has done us all a favor on the Right once again and opened her big mouth.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday called on Speaker Paul Ryan to join Democrats in supporting legislation to remove Confederate statues from the U.S. Capitol.
“The Confederate statues in the halls of Congress have always been reprehensible,” Pelosi said in a statement. “If Republicans are serious about rejecting white supremacy, I call upon Speaker Ryan to join Democrats to remove the Confederate statues from the Capitol immediately.”
Pelosi’s call for action was made hours after President Trump defended Confederate statues. He protested the removal of the monuments, saying on Twitter, “Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson – who’s next, Washington, Jefferson? So foolish!”
Pelosi noted that during her time as speaker, a statue of Confederate general Robert E. Lee was moved from Statuary Hall. Now in its place: civil rights figure Rosa Parks.
According to the Washington Post, there are 12 Confederate statues in the Capitol. But pressuring Ryan and Republicans to remove the monuments may be for naught, because the statues are selected by the states.
A Ryan spokesman quickly made that point, according to the Hill: “These are decisions for those states to make.”
In the Senate, Democrat Cory Booker of New Jersey said he planned to introduce a bill to remove Confederate statues from the Capitol.
Cory Booker, if you remember, has racism on the brain. He was the first Senator to testify AGAINST a fellow senator when Jeff Sessions was up for the job of Attorney General. Booker charged Sessions with being a racist. On his way home that day, he also charged a police officer, an ice cream truck driver, a hot dog and pretzel vendor, a newspaper delivery boy, a German Shepherd, a white picket fence, and a Ford 4×4 with racism (seems the Ford 4×4 crossed over to another lane when Booker entered the highway).
And so, here we go again as Nancy Pelosi, not being able to stand life in the House as a simple onlooker had to inject herself into the national dialogue by stepping in front of that MSNBC/CNN/PBS camera and microphone and proving exactly why the Democrat plantation is the most dangerous place for an intelligent African-American.

Hey nancy, does that include the one your father fought to have built in Baltimore when he was the mayor, or did you forget about that?
