Pelosi Blocks Names of 13 US Service Members Killed in Afghanistan From Being Read on House Floor

“Democrats just blocked a vote to require a plan from President Biden to bring Americans home and to account for all the military equipment he left behind,” McCarthy tweeted on Tuesday after a press conference. “Republicans will not stop until every American is home safely.”

It seems that the death of 13 Americans in Afghanistan just wasn’t enough to get their attention.

On Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) blocked the names of the 13 US service members killed in Afghanistan from being read after a moment of silence on the House floor, according to three Republican congressmen.

Rep. Brian Mast (R), a wounded combat veteran from Afghanistan, tells The Floridian that during a Republican-only “moment of silence,” Speaker Pelosi refused to recognize them to” read names or bring up bills or anything.”

“We gaveled in, had a prayer, said the Pledge of Allegiance, took a moment of silence with pretty much all Republican veterans, then asked to be recognized to read names and bring up Afghanistan legislation. They did not acknowledge us,  and just closed the House down,” said Rep. Mast.

Another combat veteran, Rep. Greg Steube (R), also expressed his disgust for Pelosi refusing to let him and his Republican colleagues read the names.

Pelosi appears to just have ignored the request.  The death of who? Moving on…

“House Democrats just refused to recognize Republican veterans on the House Floor to read the names of our fallen service members in Afghanistan. That’s how far our nation has fallen,” tweeted Rep. Steube.

Democrats act like they no longer have to worry about being reelected – as if they will always have sufficient votes to keep them in office. Gee, I wonder why they seem to have that idea.
