Idaho State Representative Heather Scott brought attention to the situation on Thursday morning, stating that the veteran had issued a plea for help after receiving the letter from the VA.
I bet he never expected his home to be flooded with patriots standing guard like they have been!
It is certainly inspirational to see. And, a forewarning of the imminent clash of government and patriotic Americans.
“Based on an assessment of a letter I received, I believe that the Department of Veterans Affairs is coming to a veteran’s home in Priest River today to check for and confiscate his guns based on nothing more than a stroke which has left him with some mild physical impairment,” Scott wrote on her Facebook page.
An excerpt of the letter posted online states that the veteran is prohibited from possessing any firearms whatsoever based upon a “determination” that he is “incompetent” to handle his VA funds.
“As we advised you previously, the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act prohibits you from purchasing, possessing, receiving or transporting a firearm or ammunition based upon determination that you are incompetent to handle your VA funds,” the letter reportedly said. “You may be fined and/or imprisoned if you knowingly violate this law.”
Washington State Representative Matthew Shea, who traveled to Idaho after examining the letter as well, stated that the VA’s actions were clearly unwarranted.
“After evaluating the VA claims and letters and getting information from the head of the American Legion Auxilliary in Bonner County, it is clear this is not warranted,” Shea said on Facebook. “We cannot let this stand. The seizure of the guns of one of us… is the seizure of the guns for all of us.”
According to sources on the ground speaking with Infowars, the rally, which started shortly after 12 pm MDT at the Priest River Community Church, has already drawn more than 100 people from the surrounding area.
Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler also pledged to protect the veteran, arguing that he would enforce the Constitution, not “rules and regulations.”

Little by little they want your guns
This is so wrong and so stupid. One thing does not have to do with the other! I think he should sue, they are evidentally very incompetent. The Second Amendment trumps rules and regulations!
That’s Janet Incompetano!
The VA cannot take your firearms, the doctor can only recommend this to a judge. Ultimately only a court order can do this and if said order was granted. This happens every day with domestic violence, mental issues, etc. If the person regardless of Vereran status is having these issues and deemed unstable and could be a danger to those around wouldnt we want this danger eliminated? Seems that’s the cry when the person flips and everyone says “why weren’t his guns taken due to his mental health?”
MATT: Evidently you don’t know how to read !! The vet had a minor stroke, nothing wrong with his or her mental state ! V.A. had no right doing what they did, doing what they did was mental, if they tried to get into his home to take his weapons they would have deserved to be treated as Criminals and be SHOT FOR criminal trespass and robbery, he was very lucky to have had help supplied by friends and patriots keeping those SCUMBAGS out, as a responsible gun owner it is one’s responsibility to protect the safety of one’s weapons by any means possible including the use of them in direct response to the threat,
P E R I O D !!!
