The Federal government does not like to be challenged, and it has the resources and the power to make citizens yield, and does so when it cannot win the argument. If you have been following the conflict in Oregon recently between ranchers and the Federal government, you will know that the government, which owns over 50% of the land in eleven western states, is willing to jail you for unintended trespass of undeveloped, unoccupied land.
Two ranchers who did some brush clearing of their own ranch, but inadvertently burned some of the adjoining federal land, are now in prison for a long stay, based on a charge of arson. It is worth pointing out that the fire they started was put out by the ranchers without outside help, and the land itself is actually now healthier and more productive due to the reduction of brush and overgrowth. But the government wants to make sure that everyone understands they are in charge and they have the power.
A small group of ranchers, led by Ammon Bundy, are occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge building in protest of the unjust sentence and the overbearing government position. Fortunately, no violence has developed, but Bundy and his group have vowed to stay until the two ranchers in question are freed. But the government still wants to make a strong point, and they have enlisted a judge to help them.
Huge fine threatened, page 2:
The federal government does NOT have a right to land management or ownership! Let those ranchers go!
what the judge is doing is illegal and he needs to lose his job
Judge needs a pointed toe boot placed in a certain spot.
From New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana westward the Federal government owns over 50% off all the land. Across the entire United States they own 28% of all the land. Maybe instead of pointing figures at the militia, one should read the Constitution about how the Federal Government is allowed to obtain land and what that land is to be used for. Also look into how the Federal Government has gone onto private property and set “back fires” without asking permission or even letting the land owner know they are doing so. Maybe before one points fingers at the militia, land owners, and ranchers trying to make a living…. Maybe one should have ALL the facts and not assume that CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC, MSNBC, etc…. Are giving it to you straight. Just a little food for thought.

I Stand with the Ranchers
Shame on Oregon and it’s people for allowing their State Government to propagate Tyranny on hard working Ranchers! And Bravo for Bundy and his supporters for coming to their aid.Ranchers are the backbone of this country!
So no corrupt government and racist opening their check books to fund them like blm, no getting out of the way so they can burn down a city and relieve some stress, no wiping clean of their crimes??
Nuts
I’m not here to argue about riots. They happen everywhere. Hurricane Katrina is a great example on how things can be. But there were things that was kept off the news. alot of people died by the gun during that time. However, there was allot of looting going on here, but there was allot of survival mode mentality going on too. And bc of the survival aspect, allot of people got dealt with in gun violence or defensively by the gun. So that scenario is different then most situations.
Angel Toro, the mason Dixon line has nothing to do with the mentality of the south. And that was my point. Based on many aspects of life, including speach dialects aka accents, food , beliefs, southern pride, and the list goes on and on, that is what makes us southerners. Not some imaginary mason Dixon line. Southern mentality is bred in us, not a line drawn in the dirt, Not some Google researched link. But I will say this. . On a ratio scale of gun owners, there are less gun related robberies in the bible belt states than other states…. and that’s because those thugs know that there are allot of gun owners out there and none of those thugs are looking for a gun fight.
