One of the most integral rights one has as a patient in a doctor’s care is their right to privacy. This important right ensures that your health conditions, particularly sensitive ones such as mental illness, is no one business but your own and those who are involved with treatment.
Well, today Obama destroyed that right with his far-reaching executive action regarding gun sales in the United States.
How did patient privacy end up being entangled with gun ownership? Evidentially, the new policies set forth by the president will allow doctors to turn in their patients medical records so that they can impede on that person’s second amendment right to own a gun.
If that sounds illegal to you, you may be right. HIPPA explicitly protects a patient from involuntary disclosure of medical records, but a broad exclusion for purposes of law enforcement opened up the door for Obama’s administration to exploit.

No it simply reiterates that which was enacted during bush 2’s presidency. Complain and rail against the facts but you do yourselves a great disservice when you just lie.
Thats what obamacare was for, total control.
and lots and lots of dr’s getting sued as most are not qualified to say you are clinicly mental
And get sued
This will cause more people to go untreated for mental heath issues.
SOUNDS LIKE WHAT$#%&!@*DID IN GERMANY.
what about the refugees and mexican drug cartels? do we have all their medical records? and what about background checks? no we give those guns away for free so they can shoot at law-abiding Americans and border agens
Sounds like what happened in China during the Cultural Revolution.
Who is going to turn doctors in ?
Like doctors have time for this.
