One of the most integral rights one has as a patient in a doctor’s care is their right to privacy. This important right ensures that your health conditions, particularly sensitive ones such as mental illness, is no one business but your own and those who are involved with treatment.
Well, today Obama destroyed that right with his far-reaching executive action regarding gun sales in the United States.
How did patient privacy end up being entangled with gun ownership? Evidentially, the new policies set forth by the president will allow doctors to turn in their patients medical records so that they can impede on that person’s second amendment right to own a gun.
If that sounds illegal to you, you may be right. HIPPA explicitly protects a patient from involuntary disclosure of medical records, but a broad exclusion for purposes of law enforcement opened up the door for Obama’s administration to exploit.

Turning your doctor into a Cop!
Sounds a lot like Pre WW2 Germany to me!
Not “allows”..but requires.
Obama says so but their oath says different.
WHY SHOULD WE TELL THE DR..?
THE “PRESIDENT” IS NOT VALID, THE ACTION IS NOT VALID.
What about patient -doctor confidentiality ? Anyone heard of Hippa laws ! … Oh I forgot that our government are making their own rules and ignoring our the actual laws of the law and the Constitution !
I’ve noticed at the lightrail platforms in Phoenix AZ a speaker system was playig a message over and over telling people to call a specific number to report any suspicious activity. It gave me a creepy feeling. I was immediately reminded of the story I read about Hiltler’s Germany.
Grrrr
Not legal they will get sued giving out medical information!
and leaves doctore open to breach of trust and hippa lawsuits and malpractice lawsuits
