One of the most integral rights one has as a patient in a doctor’s care is their right to privacy. This important right ensures that your health conditions, particularly sensitive ones such as mental illness, is no one business but your own and those who are involved with treatment.
Well, today Obama destroyed that right with his far-reaching executive action regarding gun sales in the United States.
How did patient privacy end up being entangled with gun ownership? Evidentially, the new policies set forth by the president will allow doctors to turn in their patients medical records so that they can impede on that person’s second amendment right to own a gun.
If that sounds illegal to you, you may be right. HIPPA explicitly protects a patient from involuntary disclosure of medical records, but a broad exclusion for purposes of law enforcement opened up the door for Obama’s administration to exploit.

The psychologists at my healthcare have a sheet you fill out that asks you if you own a gun. And many folks out there cannot just change doctors on a whim. The sad reality is many folks are on some kind of government assistance, therefore no matter what doctor they switch to it will still be govt regulated. It sounds like an awesome way to sidestep the situation but realistically it gets you nowhere. Besides, doctors won’t be reporting you own a gun, they will be reporting your medical condition… Even if it’s a lie. Really, this country is going to have to start relying on God and pray. It’s only going to get worse.
HE CANNOT DO THIS!!!!
Just like Ingsoc.
Any doctor that would first ask question let alone report should be run out of the county.
Just part of his movement to have socialism take over this country.
I did not trust the medical cartel anyway due to their ties to big pharma, this is totally unacceptable
Great….singles should add me for a chat

Ok so HIPAA goes out the window. So now we lost that right too. No one wants their medical information available for the entire world to see.
Just tell the good Dr. no.
