One of the most integral rights one has as a patient in a doctor’s care is their right to privacy. This important right ensures that your health conditions, particularly sensitive ones such as mental illness, is no one business but your own and those who are involved with treatment.
Well, today Obama destroyed that right with his far-reaching executive action regarding gun sales in the United States.
How did patient privacy end up being entangled with gun ownership? Evidentially, the new policies set forth by the president will allow doctors to turn in their patients medical records so that they can impede on that person’s second amendment right to own a gun.
If that sounds illegal to you, you may be right. HIPPA explicitly protects a patient from involuntary disclosure of medical records, but a broad exclusion for purposes of law enforcement opened up the door for Obama’s administration to exploit.
Read more about the new order on the next page:
HIPPA regulations require only those with need to access records for direct patient care may have access. If a doctor asks for information on guns, ask if that information is required to take care of you medically. If they say it is, get another doctor…………
If a doctor asks if you have a gun, simply put n/a for not applicable! I have been doing this for years. It is none of their damn business.
yea last time i went to the hospital they asked me if i owned a gun and what my religion i believed in
Best way I know of to get people to stop seeking help for mental issues!
GESTAPO, $#%&!@*DID IT, TURN YOUR NEIGHBOR IN. WAKE UP AMERICA. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AGAIN.
Hippa violation!!!!
If ANY doctor asks you if you have a gun tell him it is none of his business then find another doctor! He has no right to ask this as the communist has no right to have hin do so. WE are STILL FREE Obama can not force YOU to bow to him. He is a PSYCHOPATH.
no doctor, patient priviledge anymore huh?
B******t
Want them that bad? You will DIE TRYING.
