President Obama has started moving to bypass Congress and push extreme new gun control measures.
Releasing a fact sheet onto the White House website, the administration plans to expand background checks through the use of executive orders. The new background check system will be cast a much wider net than the current one, with families and corporate trusts being targeted for inclusion in checking procedures.
The ATF is already slated to draw up the proposed restrictions regarding the purchase of firearms from corporations and trusts, opening the way for increased inconvenience and harassment of gun owners. Knowing this president, however, it’s unlikely it will settle for inconveniencing and harassing gun owners.
