Several South Carolina Republicans have already begun the process of putting the skids on President Barack Hussein Obama plan. Nikki Haley and Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback co-authored a letter to Defense Secretary Ashton Carter in August that ended with, “Please know that we will take any action within our power to make sure no Guantanamo Bay detainees are transferred to South Carolina or Kansas.”
A facility at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, was visited by the officials prior to the South Carolina visit.
Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., joined the fight by starting a petition against the idea, and will be in attendance during the visit by the Pentagon officials.
“His belief is that they should not be housed on U.S. soil at all,” Conner said (H/T The Hill).
Though Gitmo detainee transfers to the United States have been banned, thanks to Sen. John McCain’s Senate version of the 2016 defense policy bill, if the administration submits a plan to Congress that’s approved, the ban would be lifted. Considering the Congress on the Iran nuclear bomb deal, don’t bet on Congress to do the right thing.

Gitmo will be opened as soon as he is out of office
How utterly wonderful for him 🙁
That’s ridiculous
Why not Illinois?
Is Obama punishing South Carolina because of the church shootings and the Confederate flag incident?
Gave up the traditional flag so easy he feels this is the next step.
