This past Monday, Oregonians travelled from across the state and political spectrum for hearings on three Senate bills designed to further gun control initiatives.
Senate sponsors testified in support of the legislation, except for two of the proposed bills, for which no sponsors were identified.
Governor Kate Brown spoke in favor of two of the measures, noting they would reduce domestic violence, prevent suicides, and avoid public shootings by those with mental issues.
A lobbyist for the National Rifle Association (NRA) was on hand as well. Find out how she testified regarding the constitutionality of the proposed legislation on the next page.
Sue this is unconstitutional
Well it sucks to live there!!! Don’t smoke pot!
Who gets to say if the person is stable or unstable or is a danger? Then what process is in place to protect the one getting his 2nd amendment right taken away. Someone could make a false claim against another person just to take their rights away from them. These don’t protect anyone. A criminal doesn’t follow the laws and if you take away a person’s guns doesn’t mean they can’t get a hold of a gun illegally. Restrictions only restrict those who are law abiding. As for suicide the person who wants to kill themselves will find a way. Taking their guns won’t keep them safe. Providing psychological care will. The government has been cutting programs that address these psychological issues. That is where the focus should be. Make stricter laws for those who use guns for their crimes and violence. Stop trying to take away law abiding citizens rights.
That’s all democrats have on their minds, take away people’s freedoms. Bunch of jerks, out on the west coast. Just separate Wa. OR. and Cal. from the rest of the U.S.
Unconstitutional an the politicians need v to be arrested and held accountable, they need the national gaurd to step in an take over an establish law and order
Buy one from a criminal, they have loads of’em easy peasy
Our politicians are so stupid . Even if I lived in a state that does not allow guns
I would still carry one. And those states can kis my rebel$#%&!@*twice.
Under the constitution we have the RIGHT to bear arms. Can’t take that away !!!!!
We have the inalienable Right to bear arms. No state law can abridge that right.
Just means that MOST LIBERALS will be unable to own guns 🙂
