Last week, Donald Trump proved that, when necessary, he was is willing to use the United States military against a sovereign nation. But what does that mean for North Korea?
Previous to the Syrian strike, a White House official told reporters that, in regards to North Korea, “the clock has now run out, and all options are on the table.” Donald Trump took the statement even further, promising that “if China is not going to solve North Korea, we will.”
So is the White House signaling a North Korean attack? Or are they simply talking tough, hoping that China or North Korea will get the message?
If they were hoping for the latter, North Korea certainly doesn’t seem deterred. Instead of deescalating the war of words, the North Korean government vowed nuclear retaliation against the United States.
