Terms like an “electromagnetic pulse” often leave people scratching their heads, or perhaps they just tune out because they don’t know what an EMP is, how it would happen, and what the impact would be. This is definitely the case of the importance of preventing a disaster being far more important than dealing with the aftermath, because mitigating the effects of one would be almost impossible.
An EMP attack of sufficient power results in the destruction of the power-grid, of that system of moving electricity for the sources of its generation to homes and offices. Were one to occur, the electricity would go out for one year or more. And that’s the scary part.

I say, pre-emptive strike, nuke pyongyang now.
Sorry, guys, A successful EMP requires an H-Bomb. An A-bomb just doesn’t have the oomph to do it. And IF you have an H-bomb (North Korea doesn’t, all their propaganda notwithstanding), you have to get a precise sweet spot in the atmosphere to get the effect. The odds of North Korea having the wherewithal to do this are highly unlikely.
Im posable
We could kill 100% of NK without nuclear weapons….pound em with MOAB
