A pro-police lobbyist has pushed through legislation that makes legal for police in North Dakota to fire ‘less than lethal’ weapons from the air at citizens.
House Bill 1328 wasn’t originally created to permit this, but a lobbyist with a booming drone industry got his hands on it and got it changed to allow cops to shoot people with anything from tasers to tear gas from a drone.

Why would they need that in ND if the crime rate is low? If I saw something like that,it wouldn’t stay in the air for too long.
Unfortunately this is old news.. they are revisiting this because they believe had the pd in Texas had a weaponized drone, things would’ve been different. they also are trying to use this for search and rescue because it’s cheaper. Surveillance and recon of areas would be easier too. In one respect I’m supportive of the idea but I don’t think it should be employed without a very strict set of laws protecting us citizens that we can evoke to keep everything honest. Unfortunately nobody is honest these days so it’s best to stuck to boots on the ground
well i figure nothing new on the drone thing,it was more about the taser!!,
Lol honestly less lethal options have been outfitted for all the police drones. Tazers, pepper spray cannon, and rubber bullet cannons are all on the drones. This is getting more attention though after the PD made their own IED to deal with the shooter
it doesent suprise me in bigger city, maybe i under estamate you hicks(HAHAHA) , i just had no idea that you maybe had the funding, or the need on large scale
whoa…. cool
We don’t have either. What happens is we get told that passing certain things will fund something and suddenly that money is gone and nobody knows where it is or what it’s used for. Case in point, south Dakota years ago passed video lottery. The state didn’t want it because we didn’t want to be known for video lottery and gambling. Mostly because we had the deadwood resort and the reservation casinos. They said if we passed video lottery then it would go to raise the wages of our teachers. We figured education was important so we voted for it and we still don’t know what it’s being used for. We had to just vote again for increase in wages for teachers and we all want to know what the lottery money has been funding for 20 years. They say it’s been going into a big pool fund to help supplement whatever needs we have. We’re kinda confused as to what that means when you look at the taxes we pay and what we agree to pay doesn’t impact positively on what we were told it would fund. When we voted to give our teachers a 1/2% raise most of the schools took that money and it didn’t go to the teachers. My old school principal took that money and gave him self a raise. The school board voted on it and he was awarded the raise without the teachers seeing any of that money. That’s just a very small example of what life is like in this$#%&!@*state
Where can I get one?
