It seems politicians in Washington D.C. will do anything to take away our guns, and they’re not going to let that pesky little Second Amendment get in their way.
In their newest effort to circumvent our right to keep and bear arms, a congresswoman is introducing a bill that would attempt to make owning a weapon prohibitively expensive.
Because she has no right to actually make guns illegal, Nydia Velasquez (D-NY) is proposing a mandatory $100 tax on all firearms, and use the money itself to demonize the purchase of guns in the name of “anti-violence” programs.
But beyond the liberal politician’s attempt to strip our people of their right to protect themselves, she’s also putting the very people she claims to protect in danger.
How ironic that the Democrat Party, long hailed as the party of the poor, is attempting to make guns a luxury item only afforded to the rich.
Nydia Velasquez is not only attempting to undermine our country’s constitution, she’s stripping our nation’s poor their ability to legally protect themselves from violent criminals. She’s willing to exploit them for political purposes, but seems more than willing to let them die than let them have a weapon.
To see what Velasquez says on the matter, continue on to the next page:
Come and try to collect it.
take all the guns they tax, and go to washington and give the ones that vote such in, the business end of that gun, and don’t forget ovomit
does that $100 tax apply per gun? does it apply to the foreign countries that hate us that we continue to arm? how much tax did the Saudis pay for the record weapons deal we just did with them?
Joe Abbet.. I am afraid i cant find the right to smoke amendment in the Constitution. I, however, can vaguely see how you could believe people have the right to drink due to prohibiion being ended via constitutional amendment. However, taxing a right declared by and placed in the `Bill of Rights` is absolutely absurd. How about taxing you for your free speech, or taxing you for being a Christian. That legislation basically says that you have to pay the federal government to exercise your guaranteed liberties. According to your logic, these rights are guaranteed so long as you can pay to the govt a fee to have them. That ideology attacks the very foundation for which the Constitution was drafted and ot attacks the very premise that every one is equal under the law regardless of what label you possess. Voicing support for this ridiculous proposal shows that the gun-grabbers are perfectly happy infringing on other peoples rights so long as they can freely exercise theirs. That my friends is a hypocrite.
F*ck you POS moron Democats.
That’s unconstitutional.
tell em to go to hell
John Skirtich everyone has a form of ID!
We already pay sales tax on all things bought. Not paying for the governments overspending anymore!! You’ve already broken the Bill of Rights by saying we had to buy and pay for permits.
Joe no people don’t have the right to drink or smoke. That is a privilege ! If it was a right they couldn’t ban it from store and restaurants. No where is either in the bill of Rights. Gun are our 2ñd amendment.
