A New Jersey woman is facing a $1,000 dollar fine for harboring wild animals, or at least that’s what the courts are calling it. Maria Vaccarella, a resident of Howell, NJ, took in two baby squirrels after their mother had abandoned them on her property this summer.
She found them all alone and vulnerable to hungry predators. She wasn’t looking for pet squirrels, nor did she intend to purposefully break the law. Out of the kindness of her heart, she took the two baby squirrels into her home and nursed them back to health, fully intending on returning them back to the wild once they were strong enough.
Despite her good intentions, two officers showed up at her door.

The same thing happened to me, but they were baby chipmunks and I wanted to nurse them back to health then let them go in my backyard, I had them for 2 weeks the girl was doing great the boy got a respiratory problem so I took him to a vet who took them from me told me I was going to get a 500 dollar fine I said I didn’t know about this and besides what’s the big deal she said what if everybody did this, ya we would have a breakdown in society yuk yuk then I asked if I could say good bye to my babies and she said no what a$#%&!@*I cried all that night, I told everyone o knew what this woman vet did I hope she lost patients because of her lack of compassion
welcome to socialisam
She isn’t a poacher , she is trying to save a life . This is a good thing . I’m a hunter but I wouldn’t let a baby animal die if I could help it live .

How stupid! Anyone want some more government?
New Jersey is a$#%&!@*hole state… Smart citizens should move out… Complete incompetents running that state!
If you learned anything it is to keep it quiet. If you feed the homeless you can get in trouble in some states.
Then the law NEEDS to be changed!
