Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.
MOVE TO PAGE 2:.
They do have a plan, and after they are done the picture on the right is what the Great Lakes will look like.
I do not feel sorry for them they were told years ago, hey you live in a Desert build Reservoirs, they bowed to the enviromentalist so they should get it from them! They were also told build Desalination Plants, you have the entire Pacific to draw from but Flower CHild Jerry would rather build high speed rail no one will use. Now they can figure it out most of the water they get comes from out of state! Maybe they could form a bucket brigade with all the illegals Jerry has let in and given drivers lic.
But keep feeding those walnuts and pistachios !!!!
Haaaa!
I heard of a plain pumping water from Seattle through a pipeline anyone else heard of this? Should make the nestle water CEO pay for it.
Why don’t they just build pipelines from the melting icecaps. Water is the next commodity. If they can build pipelines for oil, they can pipeline in water.
Maybe California’s out of control.water usage can combat rising seal levels hahaha
Because God is such a reliable and reasonable guy.
All that rain that Texas just had would’ve solved California’s water problem in one day. Funny how nature works. Southeast states should devise a plan to help divert water to where it’s needed
Good lord, god has nothing to do with it. People over-populating in a desert with no natural water resources did it. Some people I swear.
I’m not surprised
