Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

If only the technology existed to transport liquid via pipeline across the country.
Yeah well wine about it all you want but after voting doodoocrap, dookacrap for so long and trying to be a f*g state you get what you deserve. Meanwhile in Texas we’ve had more rain fall this year than in the last 15 years combined. It’s called the weather. You can’t predict it all the time.
Take ur fancy overrated state & spend money on something other than looks.
Good luck trying
Keep selling all your water to Nestle. Idiots.
It’s called a “megadrought” and it could potentially be lessened in severity if our leaders were to act now, but because of rampant baseless climate change denial, it will likely only get worse.
hahahahahaha CA dumps a trillion gallons annualy into the Pacific -climate change lol maybe they should stop using so much water to make kool-aid . I heard just today women wearing blue jeans cause earthquakes so you better get ready for that too. The drought of 86-91 was worse and it was not the new “mega drought”The droughts of the 30 ‘s and 50’s were worse . Drought is caused by above average persistence of high pressure over the area. Do you even know what the term Pacific Decadal Oscillation means . If you changed your politicians to someone with a brain you have access to existing currently wasted abundant water supply.
