Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

Pencils cause alot of problems in space. Floating pieces of graphite damage instruments. So a pen was necessary
Yeah, you’re an idiot. You’re exactly what’s wrong with this country. Your liberal professors did a good job. Did you nanage to stay below $100k debt for your undergraduate or did you borrow for “travel”?
Wrong. They’re not letting anyone know because that would kill tourism and hurt the ocean towns economy.
????
So let’s see here, you build a huge agricultural empire and settle 38 million people in a desert and then wonder what went wrong when the drought returns and you run out of water?! Hmmmm – sounds a little short-sighted to me.
Pray for it! Oh. Wait. California. God was evicted from there.
Just pump it from texas
Ocean
There’s an ocean there, leave the lakes alone
Those pens were provided to NASA at cost sans-all R&D being eaten up by the company. Capitalism 1…Communism 0.
