Syed Farook, a household name of ill-repute, was “living the American dream” with his new wife and baby, said, Patrick Baccari, a co-worker who shared a cubicle with him.
Surviving co-workers, from San Bernardino County Department of Public Health, seem to hold a similar perspective regarding Farook, that he was a quiet man, of little words, but well liked. He was so well liked that he and his new wife were given an office baby shower.
Yet, Farook did not return the respect or amnity with those he worked with and instead decimated the office Christmas party with the help of his wife, Tashfeen Malik, firing between 65 and 75 rounds from their rifles.
Authorities were investigating terror links after a government worker and his wife shot up his San Bernardino, Calif., office party Wednesday, killing 14 people.
Syed Farook, 28, a devout Muslim, stormed out of the festivities and later returned with his new wife, Tashfeen Malik, 27. Both wore dark tactical gear and masks while toting assault rifles and handguns, police said.
The murderous duo sprayed bullets inside a conference room, slaughtering colleagues who earlier this year had thrown a shower for their new baby.
“This was not a casual workplace argument,” one law enforcement source told The Post. “It’s a well-planned and thought-out attack.”
Meanwhile, the baby, whose parents orphaned it, is in the custody of the state. Hopefully the child can grow up in a home that will promote a love for humanity and not spread the seeds of radical Islam.
