MSNBC Asks Rep. Steve King Unusually Critical Question About Muslim Immigrants

Even more shocking than the mere fact that a staunch liberal like Hayes would dare to ask such a question is the fact that he would allow King to give a nuanced, honest answer instead of attacking him like MSNBC normally would. Speaking freely, King explained that the problem with Muslim immigrants was the adherence of many such immigrants to Sharia law. The Independent Journal reports:

“When asked by Hayes, King explained he was referring to groups of people, not individuals, and said the difference between those group settlements and places such as Chinatown is that Sharia Law is brought with Muslim immigrants.

Then came the question that may have shocked some:

‘Hayes: ‘Do you think, fundamentally, that Muslims from the Middle East are incompatible with American democracy?’

King: ‘I believe that Sharia Law is incompatible with American democracy and if you…’

Hayes cut him off to repeat the question.

King answered: ‘I think if they’re willing to reject Sharia Law, then we can talk. But until they do that, their view of Shariah Law trumping constitutional law is incompatible with Americanism, and eventually will break down the rule of law in our country.’

King pointed out during the interview that he was speaking from a frame of reference of having physically spent time in Middle Eastern settlements here in the United States.”

Wonder what got into the water at MSNBC that day.
