Science has, on many, many occasions served to shut down certain critics of religion and religious history. In particular, the Old Testament of the Christian Bible (based on the Jewish Torah) and the New Testament have been the target of naysayers, atheists, and Leftist revisionist historians for centuries. With the advent of modern technology and scientific theory and exploration, archaeological excavation has uncovered corroborating evidence time and time again that clarified and verified long-held assertions by Jews and Christians that the books of the Bibles (both Jewish and Christian) are accurate and true histories of what has already occurred in ages past.
If you’re like me, you enjoy a good documentary. There are literally thousands out there on any given subject. Some of the really enjoyable ones are those that take no particular biased opinion, but work from the standpoint of a person simply trying to discover truth. I used to be a fan of the History Channel until I actually began to research subject matter myself. Then, the ugly truth emerged and that was that the History Channel, A&E, Discovery, National Geographic, etc., etc., were all on the same page as far as developing a storyline and delivering the finished product. Number one, it has to be marketable. Can’t make money without someone wanting to watch it and without advertisers interested in sponsoring that show. Number two, it has to be controversial or provocative. For obvious reasons, you don’t want a real draw-out boring program (see Number one above). And Number three, it has to have a slight, extreme or radical Leftist slant. This is key in the packaging of these shows because of the types of people involved in the production, the actors who bring the stories to life, and the sponsors who follow trends based on social media and sales statistics.
For this reason, I completely avoid all the Liberal trappings of the documentaries which pretend to be about “exposing the truth” about history, particularly when it comes to anything that happens to be sacred to Christians or is deeply ensconced in identity politics or racial inequality. If you’ve ever gone on Netflix to watch a documentary about, say, the Book of Genesis, you’d be sadly mistaken to believe that this will be an in-depth study of the Book of Genesis. Rather (as becomes quickly apparent during your viewing of the show) the program is out to disprove the Book of Genesis in one way or another. They usually approach the subject matter from several different angles, all exposing the “lies or half-truths of the men who wrote the Book.” And this is a pattern with practically 100% of the so-called documentaries. The information is there to test your faith, to see if you’re actually paying attention to scripture and not to the flashy, state-of-the-art computer graphic renderings of the construction of Solomon’s Temple or the Exodus from Egypt.
Once again, science has come to the rescue and facts bear out more evidence that the Bible should be taken at its literal word rather than in mystical metaphors and allegory. Read on the following page about the amazing new DNA evidence direct from Egypt that will shut the mouths of condescending Liberals…at least temporarily. An extraordinary finding!
Robert Nicolazzo where do you think we go when we die ?if you don’t believe the bible, what about the Old Testament backing it up about Jesus birth?
Nope, still havent proven anything, except that this “writer” is a devout religious fanatic.
Robert Ireland The commandments are still relevant. Their main purpose is to show us that we can’t keep always keep them. Thus we need the saving power of Grace, through Jesus. But yes, we are under grace, not the law. We are still to follow God’s Commandments. They keep us safe from consequences of not following them.
Jimmy Fischer… How do you know man started 200, 000 years ago. Dates stamped? Please don’t say radiographic dating or strata and fossil records… Cuz those ideas are so flawed and full of holes as to be laughable. You are speaking from theory based on opinion and conjecture with a sinking sand foundation. The very altar secularists worship at… Scientific data is undermining all the origins fairy tales. To the point that most evolutionary apologists refuse to debate origins. Its all evolutionary theory… Aliens… Crystals… Comets. But don’t tackle origins cuz the data isn’t there
Tell that to the idiots who teach/ profess that Evolution is FACT.
Roy, I prayed for you this morning. I’ve reread a few of your posts. So tell me, you were going to church and one day, out of the blue, you turned and believed the Gospel was all bunk. Is that how it went? Or, did something occur in your life, that was so painful, that you felt as though God didn’t hear you, when you needed him the most?
Kenny Bachman Personally have compared 3 or 4 versions to KJV. The other versions leave out names like Lord, Jesus, Christ, or even a whole sentence. And other versions use a different word instead of another word, to describe something. Basically, some sentences mean the same thing.
The KJV compared to a Hebrew version: The Hebrew version will use Yahshua for Jesus and Yah for God, along with a descriptive word change. Again, the meaning does not change. However, personal in-depth research is limited comparing all of Hrebrew with KJV.
So far I find the Hrebrew to be the go-to for accuracy, and KJV is second place, above all the others.
The reason for many versions is to water down the word of God, to try to weaken faith and strength, which weakens the individual’s concept and belief of the power of God’s Word. It is a trick to deceive. The adversary, the infamous devil of all times, Lucifer/satan, gets his hands into everything! He is a trouble maker. Not only trying to weaken God’s Word’s influence, but by infiltrating churches/pastors, who preach false doctrine (such as prosperity gospel, feel good about yourself, like a motivational speaker, or omits topics that should be taught).
Seeking to find the one true religion I began a quest. researching all the info I could find, beginning with a thorough study of the Christian Bible.(Incidentally, Jesus called his flock “Disciples” not Christians) No need to list the myriad world wide beliefs, just sufficient to note all the conflicting, superstitious, ridiculous, and totally unbelievable (except to the abysmally ignorant, or terminally stupid) tenets foisted on the critically unthinking. And almost every church official, of every denomination, could only answer that their dogma had to be taken on faith. My brain doesn’t work that way.
I like the way people say the Bible is not real, it’s just stories, it’s false it happened like this or it really came from this. Well prove it wrong. Don’t make up your version, don’t say this is what happened, prove it wrong. Bet you can’t. Everything in the Bible has happened, is happening and will happen. Like it or not it’s happening.
Roy, my mind doesn’t work that way either. My biggest struggle with faith, is the intangible. Faith would be easier, if it would have an effect on the five senses. I suppose that’s what faith consists of, belief without the aids of the tangible. I quit God once. Told Him so. I told Him that I had chalked Him up to a series of good or bad coincidences. After I settled that, I can’t tell you what a void, that I had felt in my life. It wasn’t guilt, it was a void, that left me feeling that life in and of itself was so futile and pointless. Science and human intelligence has never done it for me, because humans fail and are not trustworthy. I returned to God. The void had been filled. Sometimes when I look back at my entire life, I can see that His Hand has been in it all along. There is no doubt about that, in my mind, or heart at all. I’m just so grateful, that He has never given up on me, like I did on Him.
