Sometimes, the government makes such unfathomable decisions, it almost looks like they’re trying to do a terrible job. This week, an agency in Florida came to one of those head-scratching conclusions.
Earlier this year, British researchers unveiled a plan to release millions of mosquitos in the Florida keys:
If British researchers have their way millions of genetically modified mosquitos will be set loose in the Florida in a large experiment to combat two viruses, dengue and chikungunya.
This would be the first time GMO insects would be set loose in a residential U.S. neighborhood and 140,000 protesters have signed a petition to stop the release.
But now it seems as if those protesters have wasted their time. The plan is going forward, despite the huge risk it may pose to the Florida keys community.
See what unintended consequence these residents are afraid of on the next page:
I doubt it . Probably like the asian lady beetles they released to control something else that covers our ceilings at times by the thousands. Ir the coyotes they released in populated areas. Like near our home so now people have to worry about their pets and children. You cant trust our government AT ALL!
Stewart Elrod Didn’t they also tell us that Kudzu could be used as feed for cattle? Seems I remember that one.
No the government is going to release full of diseases so they can help kill people.
And Some thought the oil line was a problem!! This is a Nightmare waiting to Happen and they Know it!
Yeah Brandon is a scientist! Don’t worry, Brandon guarantees your Obama run Government would not hurt you! Lmao
This is what started the zika b******t to begin with. DONT$#%&!@*with MOTHER NATURE
Anybody beleives obama doesnt want to hurt you is delusional ….
Stewart those are good points, kinda like the old lady who swallowed a fly. You provided a couple accounts where introducing animals have caused problems, but does that discredit all the situations where the desired effect was reached? Furthermore these genetically modified mosquitos have been used in the past without negative impact. Little mosquitos that dont live long and dont reproduce, the only possible thing they can do is breed with local females amd render their eggs useless. Male mosquitos dont bite either, so I think my original point still stands. There is nothing to worry about with this one. It actually is a good thing. As for tammy, there are no such releases of coyotes. You are just being crazy. Now that I provided people reading this comment thread with some truth, I dont have any more time to play. Nothing else can really be said to warrant anymore response from me. The ignorance of all the people who believe every f**e news story and join hysteria is exhausting. Remember Y2K
You’re being poisoned
Hahahaha!!
