The Michigan Dept. of Agriculture last year forced Joe and Brenda Golimbieski, the owners of Hill High Dairy and Jenny Samuelson, the owner of My Family Co-op, to dump 248 gallons of organic milk and destroy 100 dozen eggs along with fresh cream, butter and cheese after accusing them of “selling food without a license.”
Their farm is a co-op, however, where people must buy shares to obtain food. The MDA stated that their contracts were invalid so the food wasn’t ‘shared’, but ‘sold’.

KOO-KOO; KOO-KOO.
Not knowing all the ins and outs, but as a small farm owner, I think the MI ag is just flaunting their power. “See who we can hurt next”, seems to be the Gov’t attitude at all levels.
How stupid of MDA and our kids are going hungry in MICHIGAN and so many other states why not force them to give to the needy.
Obama has regulations up to our ears and placing fees (liberal word for TAXES) on everything coming and going!!!
My heart goes out to both families.
Such a waste when so many go Hungry, but the Illegals get by with everything, and get supplied everything.
Sad
goverment gone wild
You are wrongfully blaming corporations because they paid their license fee to the government. This ac action was caused because this coop did not pay the government their shakedown fees. The USA is a fascist system of government where private companies operate to benefit the political elite. Stop listening to the fascist media telling you private citizens are your enemy.
Michigan seems to have a little too overboard with the feds and their BULL$#%&!@* !!!
