Joel Osteen is under fire for taking so long to express a willingness to allow Hurricane Harvey victims to take shelter in Lakewood Church
And it very well may be that Lakewood Church just got new seat cushions and they were afraid of wasting church members money by giving wet homeless people a place to sit down.
Let’s give Joel Osteen a fair opportunity to explain himself, and his actions, or the lack thereof.
He did offer these words of comfort up as the winds, and flood waters started to ravage the streets of Houston.
There’s a simple phrase you have to get down in your spirit, “God’s got this.”

Maybe Osteen just thinks that people don’t have to work when God answers prayer. That is very similar to the “prosperity gospel” he preaches in his church.
But, people don’t really seem ready yet to let Osteen off the hook for failing to open up his church doors to people in need. This has created a real PR nightmare for Osteen and multi-million dollar church and book brand.
This PR crisis has forced Osteen to come out and make a statement, backtracking on ALL his earlier claims about God being enough to make all of this Hurricane victim business go away. His statement, the new official position of opening Church doors and more, all on the next page.

What a douche
My opinion only..he is phony as a 3$ bill…
Lakewood Church served as a shelter for about 5,000 people displaced during Tropical Storm Allison at its previous home in 2001, when more than 30 inches (76 centimeters) of rain were dumped on the city. It moved to the arena formerly known as The Summit and the Compaq Center in 2005.
It did have water in it ,he did open it ..
And since when did the news start reporting the truth Sue Gawron??
Liz Prevett oh well get over it!
oh boy.
Cast the first stone
I suppose he remembers what happened to the dome during / after Katrina/Rita…
How to discern false Pastors/Evangelists/Apostles/Prophets/Teachers?
“Beloved, do NOT believe every spirit, but TEST THE SPIRITS to see whether they are from God, because MANY false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world” (1 John 4: 1-3)
