For those of you who have never seen or heard of Freddy Got Fingered, it’s a film starring Tom Green, that’s really about nothing more than an overgrown child trying to please his father. The misdemeanor that James Meyers was charged for is punishable by a fine of up to $200.
According to the news source, Meyers official charge was “failure to return rental property, a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $200.”
Noticing Meyer’s young daughter in the vehicle, officers allowed the man to drop the young girl off at school before heading down to the police station.
After arriving at the police department, Meyers was shocked further when the seemingly simple issue resulted him being placed in handcuffs.
“For the first time I got put in handcuffs,” Meyers said.
Ironically, the store which rented out the film, J&J Video, was closed for business years prior.
“They’re not focusing on the crimes I think they should be focusing on,” Meyers added. “That hour the cops sat out there with me, the hour and a half I was down in the magistrate’s office could have been spent somewhere else.”
Fortunately, after seeing that Meyers had his daughter in the car, the police officers let him drop her off at school before putting her father in handcuffs. Though the officers were just doing their jobs, you can understand why Meyers might be frustrated. Tom Green reached out and said that he would pay the fine “based on the principle of the thing.

Please don’t tell me this is a sanctuary community? Judge probably set bail at $1M, while setting bail for a murderer and child rapist at $2500. Justice system needs reform. Crazy!
