Maltese Journalist Who Published Clinton-Linked Panama Papers Dies in Car Bomb Explosion

Daphne Caruana Galizia, an investigative journalist from the small island nation of Malta in the Mediterranean had a lot to be proud of.  Her articles and exposes garnered more attention and readership than the whole of Malta’s newspapers combined!

That says a lot about her work and even more about the state of affairs in this country where corruption was rife, especially at the higher levels.  In question now is:  Who was responsible for the murder and why?

Many Maltese citizens believe that the current Prime Minister of Malta, Joseph Muscat, could possibly be a suspect!  Galizia has been highly critical of he and two of his aides for years, publishing opinion pieces and alleged evidence of misdeeds in offshore bank accounts garnered directly from a cache of 11.5M documents leaked to the German press by an anonymous whistleblower.  John Doe had access to these documents, referred to as the Panama Papers, through the law firm of Mossack Fonseca, the world’s fourth-largest provider of offshore accounts services.

Galizia had alleged through these documents that Muscat had funneled money illegally to his daughter through this agency and provided documentary proof in print.  And now she’s dead.

On Monday, her car exploded after a car bomb detonated near her home in Malta.

Daphne Caruana Galizia, a blogger whose investigations focused on corruption, was described as a ‘one-woman WikiLeaks.’

The journalist who led the Panama Papers investigation into corruption in Malta was killed on Monday in a car bomb near her home.

Daphne Caruana Galizia died on Monday afternoon when her car, a Peugeot 108, was destroyed by a powerful explosive device which blew the vehicle into several pieces and threw the debris into a nearby field.

Even more damning is the report that the magistrate in charge of her murder investigation has been a target of her earlier criticisms as well and the family is concerned because they have no confidence in this individual.

However, this has re-opened an old wound for American politics, particularly those on the Left of the aisle.  The Panama Papers that were used by Galizia, as well as countless investigative reporters throughout the world to build a consensus of corruption and tax evasion by high-ranking members of governments and corporations, also implicated such figures as Hillary and Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Eric Holder, James Comey, John Podesta and Bill De Blasio!

Read on the next page how these people have become embroiled in a scandal that has much more far-reaching consequences to national security than anything of which the Left is accusing Donald Trump!
