So this conditions the air? it’s more like a mini swamp cooler
Doc Adam Caldwell said it perfectly. Unless you have a way to get ice for free, this is not “cheap” to operate.
I’d Freeze and switch Bottles in the Freezer, Used Styro Cooler, Box knife.
tried it, does’nt work
it needs a pump to pump water over the pads, water sitting in the bottom will do nothing, and if you pump the water onto the pads it wont work in high humidity areas anyway
It’s a swamp cooler in a bucket. The cool air comes from the water evaporating on the pads as air is drawn thru the pads. if there isnt a source of water on the pads, the fan is just sucking air thru the pad.
In a swamp cooler there is what is called a spider. water is pumped from the base up to the spider which is no more than multiple open tubes from a center source of water to supply water to the pads. as the water pours over the pads hot air is drawn thru the pads causing the water to evaporate, this is similar to a cool breeze blowing thru your t shirt that is wet. the evaporated water vapor is cooler than the surrounding air. So if there was a way to pump water onto the pads, it should in theory work.
Anyone use this?
