Step 8: Transform the tubing into a soaker hose

Use a small nail or thumbtack to make holes along the section of hose that sits on the pad. These can be spaced about 2 per inch  so they evenly drip water onto the pad when the pump is running.

Again, be sure to take note of the drip rate in the video for a good idea of what you should aim for. The goal is to gradually drip water into the pad, not to have the hose spray or squirt water.

The parts/materials list and these 8 steps give you a good basis to build your own air conditioner, but each setup will fit a little differently and performance will depend on which parts you have available and also the humidity of the room you are trying to cool. The warmer and drier the surrounding air is, the stronger the cooling effect will be.
