When 8-year-old Elijah Burrell intercepted a pass and scored his first touchdown for his team, the Black Knights from Lawrenceville, Ga., he inadvertently caused his team to receive a $500 fine and their coach be suspended for a week.
Why?
Because of a very leftist-minded imposition on the game called the ‘Mercy Rule’, which doesn’t permit a team to score more than 32 points over the other team.

Wimbledon 2020; New Rule: You are no longer allowed to serve Aces. Your opponent doesn’t have the opportunity to win any points if he can’t return your serve, and that just doesn’t seem fair.
The only good liberal is a D*** liberal.
Turning the entire US into pussies.
Wow
liberalism,,,, punishing success,,, rewarding failure
Do not pay the fine! Good sportsmanship must be taught! The liberals need to go to hell!
So if he scored and it only put them up by 31 points it would be ok. How stupid is this country becoming. When I was young you had to make the team not just sign up and be on the team. I’ve been the coach of both baseball and basketball and really struggled with having kids out for the sport that had no clue how to play and were not coachable because they wanted to horseplay rather than learn which in reality hurt those that wanted to learn. Their parents found it as a very cheap babysitting service and in no way wanted to help, but were the first to complain and make a scene after a game because their child didn’t get enough playing time. But if you watched that child on the court or on the field, they’d be picking grass and chasing butterflies or standing with their hands tucked into their shorts or arms inside the tank top with not even trying to show that they really wanted to be on the team. I remember a 6th grade BB Tournament where we won our first game and a mother came over and yelled at me because her son never got in the game. So for our second game I actually started him and the other team saw that he didn’t have a clue and could double team anyone else with the ball and get the ball to the one on their team that he was supposed to cover. Before 2 mins had gone by we were down by 15. I should have yanked him sooner but wanted to show the mother why her son didn’t get to play much. When the regular players about 8 or 9 deep played they worked their butts off and came back but still lost by 3 points. We ended up getting third in that Tourney but could have easily taken 1st. I took a lot of flack from the parents of the main players because of what I did in that second game. The very next practice, that mother had her son turn in his uniform and never signed up for BB till his Jr. year. He had improve quite a bit but still did not see much playing time. I don’t care what you say or think but every kids that plays any sport, wants to win! Maybe there are some that develop their skill later than others and as a coach I always said to them if you work hard to make yourself better and work on the drills that you are taught not only at the practices but at home too, you might just work yourself into one of the top positions on the teams. But really need to work at it and not spend so much time watching TV or on your game systems. We won games by a lot of point and lost games the same way. That is just part of the game. Maybe the other team was just a lot better than yours or visa versa. Our Liberal teaching is the same way. Lets dumb it down for those that don’t even want to try to make it fair for them.
Effing ridiculous!!!
Another reason why I don’t want kids..
That’s so sad!
