When 8-year-old Elijah Burrell intercepted a pass and scored his first touchdown for his team, the Black Knights from Lawrenceville, Ga., he inadvertently caused his team to receive a $500 fine and their coach be suspended for a week.
Why?
Because of a very leftist-minded imposition on the game called the ‘Mercy Rule’, which doesn’t permit a team to score more than 32 points over the other team.

The parents and other adults that advocate “There is no winner or no loser” are setting their children up for a big fall and slap in the face when real-life rears its ugly head. Teach your children to face defeat and to savor victory. Reality is a part of life on this earth.
WTF
That’s not life! It’s wimpy mommy cares rules for FOOLS.
Are they insane ! ! Then .. They should’ve ended the game ! It’s still a GAME ain’t it ! !
Political correct bull c**p! Wimpy lib$#%&!@*s!
More of some Political Correctness thought up by some…. I can’t say it in a public forum but you all know and our kids and grandkids will suffer with this for some time.
had to laugh this is really out their. Once their at 32 points ahead game over no need to continue stop. People should leave have their kids head to the locker room. if not their teaching their kids not to fight to be a winner.
That goes right along with the theory, some believe their should no losers in children’s sports. How do you teach humility and doing your best if you can’t lose. Life is a long lesson. Let them experience it honestly by doing their best no matter win or lose.
Iwould have never payed it id have stomp him in the ground right there
Well the coach knew the rules and should have told the team to let them score so they can continue scoring. That rule in LL baseball…good that he got suspended. Now the $500 fine is not right but if the coaching staff was told at the start of the season, well they will have to pay the fine.
