Lawsuit Filed Against Obama DOJ Over Meeting Between AG Lynch and Bill Clinton

The Clintons have been involved in so much corruption throughout their sordid careers, that it’s really surprising that we are not witness to even more revelations of wrongdoing than those we’ve already suffered through.  On the other hand, perhaps it’s a testimony to their ability to function in mafia-like ways that has managed to keep them immune to criminal prosecution.  While it’s impossible to predict with any degree of certitude whether they will answer for their deeds in a criminal court, it is likely that they will keep their battery of attorneys busy for many years to come.

The oddly-timed meeting between Bill Clinton and Attorney General Lynch just days before she was to meet with the FBI is now the subject of a lawsuit attempting to find out what they discussed.  Obviously the question is whether Bill made any comments to Attorney General Lynch relative to the FBI’s investigation into Hillary’s email scandal.  If that was the purpose and Bill did apply pressure to quash the investigation and any prosecution, then it would represent one of the most brazen violations of the law of which Mr. Clinton has been accused.

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), which has filed a number of federal lawsuits against the Obama Administration to obtain information through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, today filed a federal lawsuit in Washington, D.C. against the Department of Justice to unearth information about the June meeting between Attorney General Lynch and former President Clinton – just days before the Justice Department’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) cleared former Secretary of State Clinton in a criminal probe concerning her unauthorized email server.

There’s that highly suspicious timing of the meeting again.  After the FOIA request was filed, the FBI and DOJ proved to be incredibly unhelpful.  Hence, the lawsuit.

The lawsuit filed today comes after the ACLJ sent FOIA requests to the Obama Justice Department and the FBI, demanding answers on how such a meeting was allowed to happen.

The FBI acknowledged the ACLJ’s FOIA request, and even granted our request for expedited processing by determining that we had shown our requests concerned “[a] matter of widespread and exceptional media interest in which there exist possible questions about the government’s integrity which affect public confidence.” The Justice Department remained silent.

Then, last week, the FBI – a component of the Justice Department – revealed that it was reopening the underlying criminal investigation into the State Department email scandal.

And early this week, the FBI advised the ACLJ Government Accountability Project that “[n]o records responsive to your request were located.”  The Justice Department completely ignored the ACLJ request for records.

This will be a very interesting lawsuit to follow.  If it turns out that suspicions are correct, the investigation could snare not only Mr. and Mrs. Clinton, but also Attorney General Lynch, FBI Director Comey, and a number of other officials who are nameless at this point.

If you’re going to play games with the Clintons, be sure you have a huge budget for legal fees.  And realize that their apparent immunity to prosecution may not be permanent — and will not be a benefit transferred to you.
