The state of Kentucky is not backing off their decision to fire volunteer pastor counselors from its youth activities programs who call homosexuality ‘sinful’.
Spokeswoman for the Department of Juvenile Justice, Stacy Floden stated that the agency “seeks to protect the rights of all youth in its care and custody regardless of sexual orientation or committing offense.”
“To this end, the department prohibits its staff and volunteers from discriminating against youth based on sexual orientation or gender identity,” Floden stated.

This is becoming canada…and the persecution begins in earnest
This is the first step
They gonna change the Bible next?
Jane you do know that persecution and “not getting your way all the time” are two different things right?
The first step to what? ALL religions are “supposed” to stay out of state-run (taxpayer funded) programs….that has been the case since the Cons$#%&!@*ution was written. The fact that christians consistently managed to sneak their religion in doesn’t that mean that when the state does something like this it is a “first step”….unless you mean a first step towards the cons$#%&!@*utionality of removing religion from government….which is how it is already supposed to be.
Don, you do know that at being told that you cannot preach certain things is uncons$#%&!@*utional right ?
If they are “preaching” in a religious ins$#%&!@*ution then YES…it is uncons$#%&!@*utional. However, when a pastors ventures out into the public sphere, and they volunteer for a state run, taxpayer funded program they have to adhere to the rules of the program.
Let no one tell you to defy the word of God.
