Kansas has recently flexed it’s patriotic muscles by passing a law that nullifies city and county gun restrictions and ensures that it’s legal to openly carry firearms across the state.
The House and Senate have approved the bill by wide margins so it’s off to Rep. Gov. Sam Brownback’s desk, who is a strong supporter or gun rights and is expected to sign it.
“We don’t want the feds imposing their will on us. We shouldn’t be doing that to the local jurisdictions,” said Rep. Carolyn Bridges, a Wichita Democrat.
Last year Kansas enacted a law that allows people with concealed-carry permits to bring their concealed weapons into public buildings, such as libraries and community centers.
Thanks for showing us how it’s done Kansas….who’s next?

No totally sure I agree with open carry, but it doesn’t bother me with concealed carry, so no matter. With Obama in office, carrying open or concealed seems more sensible than it ever did. 🙁
Why wouldn’t you agree with open carry? It is a right.. and frankly I feel safer with good citizens having firearms.. weed out the evil $#%&!@*s if need be.
Keep on keeping on. Where are you at States? It is time to take it out of Federal Governments hands. We should rule our own state gun laws and some others as well. Keep working.!!!!
oKansas
good for them
Kansas, not just the envy of the USA but the whole world!
Michael, I understand your apprehension to Open Carry, but allow me to make this point: Concealed Carry is to respond to a threat. When a threat presents itself, you can draw your side arm and eliminate the threat either by the presentation of your sidearm, or by the discharge of it.
Open Carry of a firearm however can actually prevent a threat. A criminal walks into the coffee shop you and I happen to be in waiting for our coffee, he sees the two of us Openly Carrying our sidearms and leaves, moving on to a target less able to defend itself.
These examples may be incredibly simplistic and/or idealistic, but they work to explain my point. Criminals hunt for the easy targets, and will purposely avoid those they THINK may be armed.
At any rate, the choice of carry styles is that of the individual, not of the state. A citizen should be free to carry what ever firearm they are comfortable with, in what ever manner they see fit.
finally people with common sense.
go kansas
I agree with Shawn,in Tn.it doesn’t matter,u can carry either way u want to.
