Judge Moore’s Battle is With Media and Not His Accusers

Trenton Garmon bravely entered the viper’s pit when he agreed to be interviewed on MSNBC, home to the Trump Haters of America Club, to answer questions that Ruhle insisted were persisting about the judge.

At one point, the question was asked about why Moore would require the permission of the mothers of these girls if they weren’t underage.  The exchange is funny and indicative of just how partisan this divide between Fake News Industrial Complex cheerleaders and Right wingers really is.

When Garmon refers to Ali Velshi, Ruhle’s co-host, it’s interesting that he does not respond, but instead allows the woman to answer for him.  The insinuation made was that Velshi might be able to provide some insight into why men choose underage girls for their wives or for courtship because he is a practicing Muslim and, according to Sharia law, that which guides the sociopolitical and religious behavior of Islamic society, deems such marriages and courtship to be moral.

Interestingly, though, apart from this, the other obvious question is why Ruhle is asking why the judge would need to ask the mother’s permission in order to date her if she wasn’t underage.  The answer is very simple and apparently beyond the scope of understanding of this woman.  The judge is an older man, from a different American era.  He believes in traditional marriage, the 10 Commandments as foundational law, and in religious freedom.  For a man his age, the act of “asking permission” is as old and as traditional as marriage between a man and a woman.

The judge was not required to ask permission…he chose to ask permission.  This is a common practice among those who have been around the block a few times and come from a time when this sort of tradition was a given in society, particularly if you intended on being well-thought-of by the mother and father of the young lady you were courting.

Ruhle treats this woman as if she was assaulted by the judge even though no hard evidence has been introduced otherwise.  The anecdotal evidence is either believed or not believed, but Ruhle has apparently doffed the cap of responsible journalist and donned a “pussy hat” instead.  Her question is being asked as if the accusations have already been proven.  It is a fire and a miss by this MSNBC team that has ratings nearing Morning Joe.  Yikes!
