Jill Stein’s Ballot Recount Effort Pick up Votes for Trump

Dr. Jill Stein may be a wonderful physician.  Perhaps she’s delightful conversation.  But as a politician, she’s a dud.  Hopefully, she didn’t let her license to practice medicine lapse during her quest for the presidency so she’ll have a fine career to return to having barely registered in the election statistics.

Recall that Dr. Stein is the candidate who crowd-funded the recount effort that so far has had about as much impact on the election as her candidacy.  Here’s what she has accomplished so far with the millions from her supporters.  They had probably expected a bit more.

Green Party candidate Jill Stein successfully requested, and paid for, the Wisconsin recount while her attempts for similar statewide recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan were blocked by the courts. Stein only got about 1 percent of the vote in each of the states that Trump narrowly won on his way to the White House. She argued, without evidence, that voting machines in all three states were susceptible to hacking.

The numbers barely budged in Wisconsin after nearly 3 million votes were recounted. Trump picked up a net 162 votes and still won by more than 22,000 votes. The final results changed just 0.06 percent.

So her effort in Wisconsin successfully netted winning candidate Donald Trump an additional 162 votes.  Note that the courts blocked her efforts in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Trump has called out Stein’s actions as a scheme to make money:

As Dr. Stein reviews the progress of her mission to assure the integrity of the US election system, she might want to consider, before initiating any future recounts, that it would be wise to have some actual evidence of possible wrongdoing before spending her contributors’ money.

But then when were liberals ever concerned about spending others people’s money?
