Caving in to outcries that they represent the South’s racist past, Greg Fenves, the president of the University of Texas in Austin, announced on Thursday that the statue of Jefferson Davis will be removed from the campus’s Main Mall and moved to the school’s Dolph Briscoe Center for American History.
The statue of Woodrow Wilson was moved as well to “maintain symmetry on the mall.”

Terrible Tragedy. You can not remove or erase the facts of history but you can destroy the future by trying. The mistakes of the past that are left to be forgotten will become the errors made in the future.
These are part of our history. Racist? Yeah! But they were who they were. And because of them and the times they lived in our country has moved forward. There are to many labels applied.
