Proponents of the minimum wage often cite it as a tool to uplift people from poverty. While most of these people have good intentions, their economic ignorance crushes economies in some places.
Influenced by the idiotic idea that the state can lift people out of economic turmoil, many states and cities are enacting laws that increase the minimum wage for their area. Seattle is one of these places.
Supporters of the new minimum wage expected it to give the support needed for the poor to lift themselves out of poverty and no longer use the state’s services helping them.
What actually happened will shock you.

You all are stupid for believing this c**p! I live here and it’s not true… Gullible morons.
What are these ecamonamics you speak of? Money is free isn’t it? :p
you are right about ignorance but you need to look in the mirror to see it
As you can now see how dependant people have become on the government. They really don’t want to work, why, so they can cut their government benefits.
Stop believing in liberals ! They don’t know what they are talking about. Look at Obama and Clinton two sorry presidents .
15.00 an hour will only force employers to lay off more people thus putting them on wellfare with the gov. This is what Obama wants.
Dave Woloschak I’m not sure where you got lost at, was it that fact that people will have more money to spend thus increasing profits of the business. A smart business owner will keep his price margin down to draw in more business or the customer will go somewhere else thus driving a compe$#%&!@*ive market place. More money in people’s pockets means that they will have more disposable income witch means that they will spend more in their local market place witch means that local business will show an increased profit margin and a better ROI thus eliminating the need to raise prices, remember if the business owner is smart he will keep the prices down to draw in more customers and i just read an article that started McDonald’s would have to raise the price of a Big Mac a whopping 17 cents if they raise the minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour. Doesn’t seem to me like it will break the bank.
It is all relative! “Those who don’t read history, must live it.”. George Santana. (No relation to Carlos!)
well that was stupid who runs this town wow
$15.00 and you are still poor
