The Internet has been buzzing with an article from The New Yorker that got picked up and reported by Fox News on an imminent, massive earthquake that threatens to take down the Pacific Northwest.
It seems that this mega-quake is about 75 years overdue – it has been striking the area for the last 10,000 years around every 240 years.
So it’s not a question of ‘if’, but ‘when’.
When it does strike it will take down everything west of Interstate 5, including Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Eugene, Salem, Olympia – home to around seven million people.
The coming quake will register somewhere between 8.7- 9.2 and will create a gigantic, 100ft high tsunami that will also cause considerable destruction.

Japan’s relies mostly in a well surge senser, that detects ground water anomalies.
Many alarms have gone off in the middle of the night, only to the inconvenience of towns folks huddled in the cold. Much embaricment dictates over public officials.
But one night it happen, the village was leveled, as the forewarned population stood safe in a open field.
I think predicting earthquake with the methods they use is just other one of thus job stimulas deal’s, for someone’s relative.
They keep saying this…
That’s makes sense with them being an island country…
I was fortunate in 2004, that I decided to fly home from China instead of staying with friends and going South to Indonesia for the weekend when the Tsunami hit that area. My Father decided to skip the trip as well and stayed in Macau, but unfortunately we never heard from the French painter’s that invited us to go. I often look at some of the footage and can’t help but “bow down” to the power that the ocean can produce. I visit the coast as much as possible, every second matters in conditions such as these when dealing with power of Mother Nature. Thank you Chris Nichols for your input.
