The Internet has been buzzing with an article from The New Yorker that got picked up and reported by Fox News on an imminent, massive earthquake that threatens to take down the Pacific Northwest.
It seems that this mega-quake is about 75 years overdue – it has been striking the area for the last 10,000 years around every 240 years.
So it’s not a question of ‘if’, but ‘when’.
When it does strike it will take down everything west of Interstate 5, including Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Eugene, Salem, Olympia – home to around seven million people.
The coming quake will register somewhere between 8.7- 9.2 and will create a gigantic, 100ft high tsunami that will also cause considerable destruction.

Yes please. Sweep California out to the bottom of the ocean.
Wesley… I would be guessing, however… I suppose such things like the indians that have kept record of such events, and I would venture to say geologist have ways of drilling into the earths layers and determining such things…. Kinda like asking how do we know all the continents used to be closer together.
I would just start to set a few necessities aside and be prepared for the worse. Water, food, flashlight, means to start fire…. If it happens to the magnitude suggested roads will fail or be jammed, power grid will fail, stores will be looted and not replenished, hospitals will be overflowing, emergency workers will be overwhelmed… certain groups of people may prey on others….
Sometimes it pays to be skeptical, but in this instance I would error on the side of caution.
Personally I think it’s just a fear campaign to keep everyones mind off the real problems. An earthquake is like an astroid hitting earth, next to nothing you can do about it.
Damm those frackers!
When the timing is right!!! God’s timing!!!
The BIG ONE?
