Recently Boise Idaho police officers made a no-knock raid on an apartment complex in order to bust criminals for illegal activities involving drugs.
The cops were there with a search warrant searching for someone with a history of violence and drug use – along with several of this man’s associates. The raid was done late at night: 2:30 A.M., with guns drawn and even a flash bang device used.
Unfortunately for the officers, and more so for the residents of the complex, these cops made a terrible mistake…
STORY CONTINUES ON PAGE TWO:
So they messed up and victimized law abiding citizens but they said they’re sorry. That makes it ok then.
Come out shooting and ask questions later
No knock warrants not only make things more dangerous for the person being raided but also for the officers & for what; usually a little pot. Stupid & reckless.
In no situation should this be legal and i do not believe that it is… if ANYBODY enters my house without my permission they getting something special… no guns needed 🙂
A law enforcement officer has very limited situations they can enter your home without consent. In this situation, they had a warrant signed by a Judge, so yes, it WAS legal. But, the inherent danger of “no knock” warrants is precisely why they are so rare.
sorry but i would press charges for damage to my property and $#%&!@*ault
i think no knocks should be legal but if they bust into the wrong house criminal charges should be able to be pressed, like breaking and entering and destruction of private property
…on every single officer that participated
I’d hunt whom ever to the end of the earth if that were my child and after blaming the child it would be a long and painful night for them. This is way you run surveillance first dip$#%&!@*s.
Yet this not uncommon? Really? First of all, it is uncommon to obtain a no knock, second, it is very uncommon to hit the wrong address. Good story, just the reporter embellished a bit on that.
