Donald and Evelyn Knapp, both ordained ministers, have refused to marry a same sex couple in their chapel, The Hitching Post.
Now they face a $1000 fine for each day they decline hold the wedding and up to 180 days in jail.
City officials from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, states that the city has a non-discrimination statute that includes sexual orientation and gender identity, and because same-sex marriage became legal in Idaho on Oct. 15, 2014, the couple would have to conduct these weddings in their chapel.

Why should they marry them? If it were me I wouldn’t marry them either…
its their chapel, why do outsiders want to change and control whats not theirs,Im gonna make everyone do what I want, this is getting way past stupid
they have the right to choose whom they want to marry. this country is becoming more communist every day. it sure isn’t the good old USA anymore.
This is all called for in the book of Revelation; I guess the Left will continue to fulfill prophecy.
This world is $#%&!@*ed. Not the fact that gays can marry- I’m all for that. Seriously, they should be able to. But since when is it okay to force and impose your beliefs, on other people? I thought thats why we were trying to allow gays to marry? Freedom has to go both ways. If you like your right to have your beliefs and morals then you cant and shouldn’t force yours on another person. If you believe that another shouldn’t have the right to their beliefs, religious practice, morals, etc. just because yours are against it . Then WHY should you have yours? what if I dont like your beliefs/freedoms? should i then force you to follow my moral compass? no.. It dosnt work that way. Because we all have right to live the way we want. A persons rights should NEVER be compromised because of whats considered “popular opinion”.( that means gay , straight, christian or athiest! anyone!) These ministers had the right to deny service- they did NOT deny these people of their right to marry. They could have went elsewhere. Once again-Just like the two lesbians that had done the same thing. They are looking for money. The law has no business fining these ministers. They are in fact exercising their right to deny service. I would NOT pay the fine. My rights will not be trampled because of someone else’s opinion. these people need to stand up for themselves. However if they were actually infringing someones rights I wouldn’t care. but this is now becoming a common thing to do now. It’s sickening.
Why wouldn’t the ‘couple’ choose a Justice of the Peace, instead? Gay marriage is not a religious ceremony, it’s a ‘legal union’….
I saw this coming a mile away. Hell I predicted that by the time Obama was out of office the next big fight with regards to marriage equality was churches being forced to marry these couples regardless of their beliefs.
We need to stand up to this c**p.
Were I they, I would sue for repayment of the fine and/or fines!
They have freedom of their own choice of religion, not State dictated.
