Donald Trump’s streak of graciousness following the close battle in Iowa has come to a screeching halt this week, but for once his anger has company in an unlikely group of individuals.
He, Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, and even the ever docile Ben Carson are all coming together to criticize the tactics Ted Cruz used to secure his surprisingly big win in Iowa this week. All three have released statements calling out “unethical and unfair” coercion techniques, and Trump — of course — is threatening to sue.
That very threat from Trump had many dismissing the accusations as typical Trump bombast, but the inclusion of less hyperbolic personalities now has many paying attention. Cruz, it seems, could be in a bit of trouble.
While it’s unlikely that Cruz broke any election laws — the primary is technically run by a private organization, the Republican Party, and is therefore not necessarily beholden to government oversight — the bad press could definitely hurt the Senator’s already less-than-sterling reputation among many in the GOP.

so!!!!!!!! then what will they be doing about it?
I “think” I heard Hillroid refer to Rove as Carl “Rogue” during last nights debate.
dont matter, carson will have to drop out real soon anyway. unelectableifcarson cant stand that, hillabeast and the clinton thugs would eat him alive
Greg Hedger moral qualities! Cruz lost respect for his/campaign shenanigans. America is tired of mischief, we deserve better!
If you look at the timeline, Cruz’ staffers and Rep King continued pushing it after Carson’s people clarified. And after Moody clarified. Now Cruz claims his people didn’t get the clarifications until later. I guess stupid people can believe that. Kinda funny how they commented on the initial reports within minutes, but somehow went into dark mode for the clarifications.
I’m gonna do this on Monday. I live in Mass, and I have friends in NH. This will be fun.
I am a trained accident investigator. When investigating an accident, one has to dig to the real cause of the accident.
The real cause of this goes back to the Carson campaign as that is where the story began. Additional digging would need to be done as to where this staffer got this info and why it was reported the way it was. Maybe they were just tired or in a hurry to catch transportation, etc. ad infinitum and didn’t properly edit what they posted before posting, who knows.
Everyone else in the chain of this train wreck also made mistakes that furthered it along including CNN, the Cruz campaign, and the Trump.campaign.
Those that ran with the story were looking for their own advantages. This is politics not dodge ball.
CNN was looking to scoop the other news outlets.
The Cruz campaign was looking to take some votes way from Carson.
Trump was trying to beat up on them both, probably to get a better leg up in New Hampshire..
Wow, Karl Rove, I know you never done anything unethical.
Trump for president
