Donald Trump’s streak of graciousness following the close battle in Iowa has come to a screeching halt this week, but for once his anger has company in an unlikely group of individuals.
He, Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, and even the ever docile Ben Carson are all coming together to criticize the tactics Ted Cruz used to secure his surprisingly big win in Iowa this week. All three have released statements calling out “unethical and unfair” coercion techniques, and Trump — of course — is threatening to sue.
That very threat from Trump had many dismissing the accusations as typical Trump bombast, but the inclusion of less hyperbolic personalities now has many paying attention. Cruz, it seems, could be in a bit of trouble.
While it’s unlikely that Cruz broke any election laws — the primary is technically run by a private organization, the Republican Party, and is therefore not necessarily beholden to government oversight — the bad press could definitely hurt the Senator’s already less-than-sterling reputation among many in the GOP.

Its Obama’s fault.
Thank you Carl Rove.

15 minutes before caucus doors
opened, CNN’s Jake Tapper, Dana Bash and Crisp Moody were dropping hints that Carson might be dropping out and was not going to NH or SC. See comments for tweets proving this was CNN and Ben Carson Team miscommunicating. Ted Cruz is owed an apology. Maybe CNN can report more rumors and get candidates to repeat them and create new CNN stories about it.
Ted Cruz campaign statement:
“Last night when our political team saw the CNN post saying Dr. Carson was not carrying on to New Hampshire and South Carolina, our campaign updated the grassroots leaders just as we would with any breaking news story. That’s fair game.
What the team should have done is send around the follow-up statement from the Carson campaign clarifying that he was indeed staying in the race when that came out.
That was a mistake from our end, and for that I apologize to Dr. Carson.”
HE SHOULD DROP OUT BECAUSE HE IS A CHEAT JUST LIKE THE OTHER PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS WIN BY ANY MEANS
What I was trying to say is that all of them are to blame for this story in varying degrees. All of them for not doing their homework and improper reporting. It does originate from a Carson staffer, like it or not. They all have someone on their various staff’s that did not do their jobs correctly.
I like Carson and could easily vote for him. It is becoming obvious, that without some major unforseen circumstance, this is not likely to be his year.
Politics in America has never been a friendly game of badminton. It has been from the beginning of the nation been a cutthroat business. Carson needs to toughen his hide and move along.
I don’t understand why Trump is speaking on this at all.
Lycrusia Jackson you are wrong! When a speaker from the Cruz campaign finished his speech, he added Carson was dropping out. His wife Candy Carson walked in and corrected the lie saying, “Ben was not dropping and not to be deterred.” The damage was done because everyone at the voting sites were spreading the lies to the voters!! The people defending Cruz are ridiculous!
Cruz knew what was being done. Don’t let him fool you. He’s a liar and cheater.
Wade Olson …………..the beginning of the end.
